Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Ensure the manuscript has undergone a plagiarism check using reliable software to verify the originality of the content.
  • Confirm that the research involving human subjects or animals has received proper ethical clearance from relevant authorities.
  • Ensure that all individuals listed as authors meet the criteria for authorship and have approved the final version of the manuscript.
  • Verify that informed consent has been obtained from participants involved in the study, especially in research involving human subjects.
  • Double-check all citations for accuracy, ensuring that proper credit is given to the original authors and sources. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • Confirm that the manuscript is not under consideration for publication elsewhere and does not contain redundant or overlapping content.
  • Verify that all images and data presented in the manuscript are genuine and have not been manipulated or falsified.
  • Provide a clear statement regarding any potential conflicts of interest related to the research, funding, or affiliations.
  • Ensure that the manuscript complies with the specific guidelines and policies of the journal, including formatting, referencing style, and word count limitations.
  • Understand the journal's peer review process and be prepared to address reviewers' comments and suggestions professionally and thoroughly.
  • Respect the confidentiality of the peer review process and avoid discussing details of the manuscript with unauthorized individuals.

Author Guidelines

Preparation of manuscripts

Authors of KONSELOR should carefully prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the following instructions: (1) All manuscripts should be prepared according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association 7th ed. (American Psychological Association [APA], 2019); (2) Manuscripts should be as concise as possible, yet sufficiently detailed to permit adequate communication and critical review; and; (3) Tables and figures should be used only when essential.

Consult the APA 7th Publication Manual for specific guidelines regarding the format of the manuscript, abstract, citations and references, tables and figures, and other matters of editorial style,


Before you submit the manuscript, please read carefully and following the information: (1) The manuscript was the result of your own works (original – not plagiarism) and never been published in another journal; (2) The article written in English. Abstract and Keywords clear written in English, and; (3) Manuscript file must be digital. We suggest for use software Microsoft Office (2010 or above) with extension document (.rtf, .doc, or .docx).

General structure of the manuscript

KONSELOR only Published a Original Article, Editorial, Commentary, and Essay. The Original Articles on KONSELOR are subdivided into the following general sections: Title, Authors and Affiliation, Abstract, Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments, and References.

We encourage authors to pay more attention to the preparation of the manuscript by following APA Style Journal Article Reporting Standards (APA Style JARS).

APA Style Journal Article Reporting Standards (APA Style JARS) are a set of guidelines designed for journal authors, reviewers, and editors to enhance scientific rigor in peer-reviewed journal articles.


APA Style JARS offer guidelines on what information should be included in all manuscript sections for:

1. Quantitative research (JARS–Quant)
2. Qualitative research (JARS–Qual)
3. Mixed Methods research (JARS–Mixed)

Using these standards will make your research clearer and more accurate as well as more transparent for the reader.


Permission requirements

Lengthy quotations (generally 400 cumulative words or more from one source) require written permission from the copyright holder for reproduction. Previously published tables or figures that are used in their entirety, in part, or adapted also require written permission from the copyright holder for reproduction. It is the author’s responsibility to secure such permission, and a copy of the publisher’s written permission must be provided to the Editor immediately upon acceptance for publication.

The full length of submission manuscript no less than 6000 words; including references, table and figure (Appendix--Exclude). References should be the most recent and pertinent literature. We suggest you to using reference management software (EndNote, Mendeley, or Zotero).

Original Articles

We welcome original research manuscripts that contribute significantly to the scientific community. Submissions must present methodologically robust experiments, offering substantial new insights. To ensure relevance, incorporate the latest references in your field. The manuscript structure should comprise Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and optional Conclusions, with a minimum word count of 6000. For detailed instructions and templates, kindly refer to our journal's official webpage. We encourage authors to adhere to these guidelines to facilitate a seamless review process and enhance the overall quality of published work.

Correspondence to the Editors

Letters submitted to KONSELOR should specifically respond to previously published content within a six-week timeframe from the original item's publication date. These responses should be concise, limited to 1000 words. While we primarily encourage letters linked to our journal content, occasional consideration may be given to general interest letters, not exceeding 600 words. Each submission can include up to two tables or figures and should cite no more than ten references. It's essential to note that submitted letters are subject to editorial revisions, ensuring clarity and coherence in communication. Adherence to these guidelines ensures the publication of insightful and impactful letters within our journal.

Essay

Essays, a prominent article type in our field, serve as platforms to present thought-provoking arguments, designed to challenge readers' perspectives on specific topics. Structurally akin to reviews, these pieces are expected to contain a minimum of 4000 words. Essays must provide substantial, well-researched arguments supported by relevant references, encouraging readers to critically reconsider prevailing notions. Authors are encouraged to craft compelling narratives that not only challenge existing paradigms but also contribute significantly to the scholarly discourse. Through well-supported arguments, Essays in our journal aim to stimulate intellectual engagement and foster a deeper understanding of complex issues within the counseling and psychology.
